Terms & Conditions
Last updated 28 August 2026
By creating an account or using SmartRemote 360 you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
SmartRemote 360 lets you control TVs, decoders, gates and compatible smart-home devices through paired IR or Bluetooth hubs, locally or over the internet. Features may change or be withdrawn as the product evolves.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate details, keep your password confidential and enable two-factor authentication where security matters. You are responsible for activity performed with your credentials. Household roles (admin, installer, member) determine what each person may do — grant admin only to people you trust with your devices.
3. Gate and access control
Commands that open gates, doors or barriers carry physical-security risk. You are responsible for who you grant access to. Every such command is written to an immutable audit log against your account. Do not rely on SmartRemote 360 as the only safeguard for life-safety or high-security applications, and always keep a working manual override.
4. Acceptable use
- Only control devices you own or are authorised to operate.
- Do not attempt to access another household's hubs, accounts or records.
- Do not reverse-engineer, overload, or interfere with the service or its hardware.
- Do not use the service unlawfully or to harass, surveil or endanger anyone.
5. Availability
Internet control depends on your connectivity, power and third-party networks. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and maintenance may cause downtime.
6. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss arising from a command that failed to send, sent late, or was sent by someone using your account. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or present a security risk.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Contact: support@secuscan.co.za.
